Scouts BSA Troop 159
Troop 159 is based out of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waukesha, Wisconsin and is Chartered by the Waukesha Kiwanis, and part of the Potawatomi Area Council.
Troop 159 is very active and run mainly by the youth, with adults as advisers. Events include camping, canoeing, high adventure and regular troop meetings.
Troop 159 is a great troop, following the ideals of Scouting.
On February 1, 2019, we welcomed a new Troop 159 Girls Troop. The Troop number will be the same for both the Boys and the Girls, but each Troop will operate as a completely separate and independent Scout Troop. The exception to this is that the same Chartered Organization Representative and Troop Committee will oversee both Scout Troops.
Since 2019, Troop 159 (Girls Troop) has had 2 Scouts, and since 1987, Troop 159 (Boys Troop) has had 94 Scouts reach the rank of Eagle Scout, giving back to the community by planning, leading and completing challenging service projects.
Activities
Troop 159 participates in a great deal of activities that range from summer camp (At camp scouts can enjoy swimming, boating, crafts, ecology-conservation as well as earn merit badges needed on their trail to Eagle Scout) to high adventure bases such as Philmont (Philmont Scout Ranch is a high Adventure camp based in Cimarron, New Mexico. Here groups of scouts hike in the wilderness, carrying everything needed for around 10 days.), the National Jamboree, Boundary Waters and many weekend camp-outs.
